Frequently Asked Questions

Tanks should typically be maintenanced every 2 to 5 years. There are several variables to consider. The number of occupants in a household is a large factor; the more people in the home, the more often a pump service should be performed. Vacation rentals also require analysis based on occupancy frequency, vacancy durations, etc. Please call with any questions about your system and together we can determine the best service plan.
-
If possible have an understanding of where the tank is located. Additionally, please have the lids accessible, and exposed if buried. If you are unable to perform the digging, I can provide that service with a small charge.

Currently, I can provide service within a week’s time. Please contact me so we can discuss your needs and schedule.

Regular pumping-out of the spetic tank, based upon the usage, size of home, and number of occupants is the best long-term maintenance plan. If your tank does not have an effluent filter, adding one will help protect your drain field. If your tank does have a filter, performing an annual cleaning of the filter will help your system’s efficiency and prevent a backup due to a plugged filter.
Reducing the amount of fats and greases sent to the tank is a big help, and of course try to keep solvents, oil, gas, etc. from being sent down the drain.

The spetic truck has an on-board pressure-washer/line jetter. I’m able to jet oustide sewer lines with a 3/8” hose and jetter nozzle with either 1,500 or 3,000 PSI water pressure. Jetting, is sending a line/hose with a specialized nozzle at the leading end, down a sewer line to a suspected clog or obstruction. The nozzle has a high pressure spray shooting forward to break up the clog and multiple, high pressure spray streams shooting backwards to help propel the hose down the sewere line. My jetter uses clean water, at ambient temperature, that I carry on the truck.
